Arsenal have been on the hunt for a big name signing throughout the summer, with a particular preference for a striker.
Their failed attempt to lure Jamie Vardy has been well-documented and Arsene Wenger has since turned his attention towards Gonzalo Higuain and Mauro Icardi.
So when the club announced they had made their third signing of the summer, fans were instantly excited at the prospect of the club's pursuit of a striker finally coming to an end.
But Arsenal supporters should know by now that they don't always get what they wish for once it became clear Rob Holding had joined the club from Bolton.
The England Under-21 international has moved for just £2.5 million and can play at both centre-back and full back.
Not quite the big name Gunners fans were hoping for but the club took an unconventional approach to announcing the deal to try and make up for the inevitable disappointing reaction that was to come.
The club's official Twitter account innocuously challenged their 7.7 million followers to guess which player was pictured in the accompanying image.
After teasing the supporters with pictures of Gabriel Paulista and Joel Campbell, a previously unseen Arsenal player was shown donning the red and white kit.
One fan surprisingly guessed correctly and the transfer was subsequently announced. Bizarre right?
Holding was voted Bolton's Player of the Season for 2015/16 and has been linked with a move to the Emirates for the last couple of weeks so the move wasn't too surprising in itself, just the way it was declared.
While any developments regarding Higuain and Icardi remain eagerly anticipated by the Arsenal faithful, they were understandably underwhelmed by their latest addition.
