Kevin Durant admits he didn't notice playing alongside new Golden State teammates

Published 1 Comments

Kevin Durant was the star of the show as Team USA got their Olympic preparations off to a solid start last night.

Taking on Argentina, Coach K's men strolled to a big win, with Durant leading the way for the Stars and Stripes with 23 points.

During the 111-74, Durant took to the floor for a two-minute period with his new Golden State Warriors teammates Draymond Green and Klay Thompson. However, Durant had no idea.

When asked about playing with his new teammates for a stretch of time, the seven-time NBA All-Star was completely oblivious.

"I didn't really notice. I was just lost in the game," Durant said according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst. "We didn't really talk about it."

Draymond Green actually set up Durant twice in the 105 seconds they were all on the court together, setting pick-and-rolls for KD to use to great effect and bury a pair of three-pointers.

Interestingly, Green himself also didn't really notice it.

"When you're out there right now, you don't even think about the fact that we're teammates," Green said. "We're all teammates right now. Honestly, if you want me to be quite frank with you, I didn't even notice me, Klay and KD were out there together."

Durant led all scorers with 23 points on 7-of-12 shooting in just 20 minutes of action, while Green finished with three points and three rebounds in 12 minutes of action, playing at center for most of it in Coach K's small ball lineup that the Argentinians just couldn't figure out.
