The Wyatt Family have now split up following the draft.

Bray Wyatt suffering from backstage heat after Matt Hardy comments

Published 7 Comments

A big criticism the WWE Universe has with the company is that they’ve dropped the ball with Bray Wyatt and The Wyatt Family on numerous occasions.

Talent-wise, Wyatt should be sitting at the top of the WWE because of what he has to offer with his unique gimmick. However, opportunities have been very limited, and when they do come, The Wyatt Family have often lost when it mattered the most.

There were plenty of rumours suggesting that once he returned, The Wyatt Family would receive a big push as a face. Instead, The Wyatt Family were split up in the WWE draft, sending Braun Strowman to Monday Night Raw while Wyatt and Erick Rowan went to SmackDown Live.

However, according to CageSideSeats.com, there’s a potential reason as to why The Wyatt Family was split up, and why ‘The Eater of Worlds’ was picked so late in the draft.

There is said to be backstage heat on Wyatt from WWE officials, this dates back to some comments he made directed at Matt Hardy. Following the ‘Final Deletion’ segment aired for TNA Wrestling, The Wyatt Family and the New Day performed in ‘The Compound’ segment, and that obviously prompted the TNA star to chime in.

The comments he made are said to be the reason why Strowman was sent to Raw and it now makes sense why somebody who is seen as dangerous, but talented, wasn’t a top pick in the draft.

Not only that, it seems like the punishment has stretched to WWE Battleground, as the match against the New Day isn’t for the WWE Tag Team Championships, especially when it looked as if Big E, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston would be the team that splits up.

Although there’s heat on him, it shouldn’t stop him from achieving a lot on SmackDown, as he’ll still be looked at as one of the biggest heels on the brand, just behind AJ Styles.

Wyatt now has a chance to fulfil his potential, once the heat on him eventually cools down.
