It’s fair to say that there were numerous Chelsea players that didn’t cover themselves in glory last season.
The 2014/15 Premier League champions could only manage a tenth-placed finish meaning it was one of the worst attempts of a title challenge in living memory.
While supporters are looking forward to a change of fortunes under new boss Antonio Conte, the reputation of some of the players have been seriously tarnished by their performances last campaign.

One of those players is Branislav Ivanovic. The Serbian endured a tricky season at Stamford Bridge and it seems that the fans haven’t forgiven him. We say that because Blues fans have celebrated after discovering the right-back will be ruled out for three weeks after dislocating his shoulder.

That’s certainly no way to treat a loyal servant that has played 360 appearances for your club, scoring 33 goals and helping the side to win two Premier League trophies, three FA Cups, a League Cup and Europa League - where he scored a last-minute winner - and the Champions League.
Obviously, the views of these fans doesn’t represent the entire Chelsea fanbase but it’s still very disappointing to see supporters glad to see one of their own players suffer an injury.
Ivanovic’s injury could give 19-year-old Ola Aina an opportunity to impress Conte ahead of the start of the Premier League campaign. The London-born youngster has looked an exciting prospect during pre-season so far having progressed through the academy at the club.
