The transfer season seems to be a breeding ground for foolish remarks and quotes. 2016's summer window has perhaps been the worst for it in recent memory with silly rumours, ridiculous player comparisons and inflated price tags seemingly becoming the norm.
Riyad Mahrez, the Premier League player of the year for 2015/16, has been the centre of much transfer speculation so far, with Europe's elite apparently swarming around the mercurial Algerian, desperate for the little magician's signature.
Arsenal have been the club mentioned to be in negotiations with Claudio Ranieri's star man, however, no trusted sources have confirmed that the player is indeed keen on pursuing a move to London.

The club have tried and failed with enquiries for Gonzalo Higuain, Mauro Icardi and Mahrez's teammate, Jamie Vardy.
The winger would perhaps be the calibre of player needed to add further fuel to Arsenal's impressive midfield and assist in removing a share of the workload from the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
Mahrez himself is now travelling to Los Angeles for Leicester's pre-season tour after scoring a sensational goal against Celtic in the International Champions Cup on Saturday evening.
Ranieri's side drew 1-1 with the Scottish champions at Celtic park, before winning on penalties to secure yet more silverware.
Nevertheless, Arsenal fans have devised the perfect solution as to why the Algerian is heading to American shores after his victory up north and not signing contracts at the Emirates.
The reason being is that Arsenal happen to be in America as well. Fans seem to think a deal can be arranged in the land of the free, but surely this really is clutching at straws?
I suppose it is a tad of coincidence that the two parties are in the same location, but I mean, come on.
Below are some of the finest tweets surrounding the situation:
