While Finn Balor has shaken up the top of the card on RAW, another NXT alum arguably made the biggest headline of the night.
Following her victory over Women's Champion Charlotte in last night's tag team match at Battleground, Sasha Banks was granted a championship opportunity on the first RAW of the new era.
The two pulled off an incredible match but when it was all said and done, the first major development of the new era was confirmed.
Banks would go on to beat Charlotte after employing some shady tactics inspired by her hero Eddie Guerrero in order to get Dan Brooke removed from ringside.
Banks would eventually force the now former champion to tap out to the bank statement and bring to an end a title reign that stretches all the way back to Night of Champions in September last year.
All change at the top
While there is now a new face atop of the Women's division, the men's division also saw a huge shift of power.
It announced at the top of the show that by the end of the night, we would see an opponent named for Seth Rollins at Summer Slam and those two will compete for the brand new, WWE Universal Championship.
Rollins' opponent was revealed courtesy of two fatal four way matches in which the two individual winners - Roman Reigns and Finn Balor would compete one on one in the main event.
Balor came out on top at the end of the first RAW of the new era and has instantly jumped to the top of the pecking order on RAW despite tonight being his main roster debut.
