The Paul Pogba transfer saga has rumbled on for what seems like an eternity, yet Manchester United are still not quite across the line when it comes to securing a deal reported to be worth over £100 million.
Things took a rather bizarre twist today, however, after a story emanating from Spain appeared to throw fresh doubt on the Frenchman actually ending up at Old Trafford at all, only for the man at the centre of the story to deny it altogether.
Spanish publication AS, in a story run by numerous publications since, claimed that Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, had pulled a scheduled "medical" for his client that was set to take place in Miami where the Juventus star is holidaying this week.

According to the report, Raiola had apparently told a Dr. Linfante not to cut short his holiday as originally planned because the appointment at the Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute had been canceled.
As you might expect, such a move would have been a worrying one as United had appeared to be closing in on getting a deal completed.
However, taking to twitter, the doctor at the centre of the story appears to have now come out to deny any knowledge of any appointment, or subsequent phone call telling him to continue his holiday.
Unless there is an incredible coincidence and there really are two Dr. Linfante working in the Miami area, then it appears the story has little to no truth to it.
Although the scheduled checkup wouldn't have been the key to any Pogba transfer, the doctor's update will be a sigh of relief from fans at the Old Trafford club.
Those same fans, though, will be hoping that a conclusion to their team's pursuit of the Frenchman isn't far off.
After so many twists and turns since United's interest was originally reported, everyone involved will be glad when Pogba's future has officially been decided.
