The Pep Guardiola revolution at Manchester City looks to be well underway. Ilkay Gundogan and Nolito have already come in, and there seems to be more deals on the horizon.
Reports have linked City with a move for Juventus centre-back Leonardo Bonucci, and given the problems the Citizens have had in the position over the last couple of years, he could be the perfect man to bring in.
In terms of ability, Vincent Kompany is by far the best centre-back at Guardiola's disposal. Both Eliaquim Mangala and Nicolas Otamendi joined for big fees with big reputations, but neither of them have performed at anywhere near the standard required.

There have been suggestions that John Stones is a man Guardiola wants to build his defence around, but given the mistakes the England man continues to make, he might not be the only defender they want to buy.
In Bonucci, City would be signing a man who has proven his quality at both club and international level, as well as the wealth of experience he would bring. He is a man who knows what it takes to win a league title, having been a part of the Juventus team that has won the last five Serie A titles.
He also has all the talents that Guardiola looks for in a centre-back. Not only is he a solid defender who has proved himself over a number of years, but he also has the ability to play the ball out from the back.
This was a talent he showed with an impressive Italian side during Euro 2016, most notably setting up Emanuele Giaccherini to score in their opening match with Belgium.
If he were to sign for Manchester City, you would imagine he would play the same role as Javier Mascherano and Jerome Boateng did for Barcelona and Bayern Munich respectively under Guardiola.
A leaky defence certainly cost Manchester City in their title challenge last season, but if they can bring in Bonucci, it is unlikely they will face the same problem this season.
