WWE officials are planning Sasha Banks vs. Bayley for WrestleMania 33

Published 2 Comments

It’s been a huge week for the WWE women, which kicked off with former NXT Women’s Champion Bayley being revealed as Sasha Banks’ mystery tag team partner at Battleground as they defeated Charlotte and Dana Brooke.

The following night on Monday Night Raw, as the WWE shifted into the new era following the brand split, The Boss defeated Charlotte and was crowned the new WWE Women’s Champion.

With her title reign barely into its third day, rumours suggest the WWE officials are already planning her WrestleMania 33 match, where she could be facing Bayley.

CageSideSeats.com are reporting that the Banks vs. Bayley match is a future feud the WWE are already laying the groundwork for, and there would be no better setting than WrestleMania 33 for the two women to compete on.

It’s not just because of their friendship and their journeys to the main roster which will culminate into one excellent match at the epic event; it’s the fact that both women have a rich history on NXT, as they helped lay the groundwork for the NXT Women’s division.

This is key as Orlando is the home of NXT, and that’s where WrestleMania will take place next year.

Despite the rumours, Bayley wasn’t one of the six brought up from NXT in the draft last week, with Alexa Bliss, Carmella and Nia Jax taking up the female slots.

However, the expectation is that Bayley will be a part of the main roster shortly after SummerSlam, by which time her NXT Women’s Championship match against Asuka will already be in the books.

Clearly, it’s the women’s match the WWE Universe wants to see once Bayley does make the jump, but it will be interesting to see how they book this, as Bayley’s talents could be needed on SmackDown Live, as it’s obvious their women’s division is a little weaker than Raw’s.

An inter-brand feud is also an option, but only time will tell whether the WWE will go with this fool proof plan to have one of the best women’s matches in recent times, on the biggest stage.

Is this the best women’s match the WWE can go with at WrestleMania? Have your say in the comments section below.
