On the first post-draft episode of SmackDown LIVE, we were treated to a six-pack challenge to determine the number one contender for the WWE Championship.
The winner of the match was Dolph Ziggler, who surprisingly fended off the likes of John Cena, AJ Styles, and Bray Wyatt.
He will now face Dean Ambrose at SummerSlam next month for the WWE Championship, and his win shows that there is always a new opportunity to shine in the WWE.

From the Top, To the Bottom, To the Top Again
Ziggler has been experiencing a bit of a career lull in recent years. He has gone from a world champion to an opening match jobber.
Dolph has had some major highlights, but there was a feeling that the company had moved passed thinking of him as a main event talent.

Before being number one contender, Ziggler had been involved in a feud with up and comer Baron Corbin. Their matches, while good, were not lighting the world on fire.
It seemed as if Ziggler was doomed to go from one meaningless feud to another, but officials in the WWE made the call to award him a shot at the champion.
Ziggler is one of the best workers in the company, a true ring general who brings an intelligent and skilled pedigree to the ring.
Some may find the Ziggler pick a little shocking at this point, but it makes perfect sense. Dolph can give Ambrose a perfect chance to shine in his first big singles match as champion. Not to mention his first big title defence against a different opponent other than his Shield mates Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.
Gives Mid-Card Talent More Value
Ziggler becoming the number one contender also gives some established talent more value in the eyes of the fans.
They can see that just because a good wrestler has been toiling in the mid-card or lower for a while, it does not mean they are done being productive.
For former world champions like Jack Swagger, who has produced consistently good matches lately, this is a sign of good news.
For fans, it means that this new era could mean that some of their favorite superstars that perhaps lack some exposure could perhaps get a chance to showcase their talent.
If SmackDown becomes the place where the main event is a place anyone can reach, it would be a welcome change.
The results from SmackDown LIVE's first big show post-draft put Ziggler right back into the main event scene.
The biggest Pay-Per-View of the summer will feature him going for the industry’s biggest prize, and now Ziggler has a whole new chance to show the company that he is still someone they can bank on.
