Marcelo scores two excellent first-half goals against Chelsea

Marcelo is the leading scorer in this season’s International Champions Cup.

Yeah, you read that right.

The Real Madrid left back has taken his tally in the pre-season tournament to three goals with a first-half brace against Chelsea.

And fine goals they were, too.

The Brazilian produced a neat shimmy to create space for himself before firing past Asmir Begovic, his shot aided by a deflection.

That goal came in the 19th minute. Seven minutes later and he doubled Madrid’s lead.

Showcasing his talents both defensively and on the attack, he retrieved possession before springing a counter-attack with a one-two.

The ease with which he burst into the area unchallenged will concern Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, as will Begovic being beaten at his near post.

Perhaps Marcelo is vying for a position change. Cristiano Ronaldo, watch out.
