Chris Jericho is doing the best work of his career

As a WWE legend and certain future Hall of Famer, Chris Jericho has no right to get the WWE Universe to boo him so easily.

Jericho has been with the company (on and off) since 1999, but his current run is arguably the best of his entire career.

No wrestler has been able to reinvent themselves like Jericho has over the past two decades. His ability to transition between slimy heel, enthusiastic face, bored of everything heel and well, just completely annoyed heel, has been a joy to watch. The fact that his previous few WWE runs were somewhat lackluster has made this iteration of Jericho one of the very best he has ever put together.

You can tell Jericho lives his character unlike any other superstar. From the "$750" scarf to his "Gift of Jericho" he has the ability to really make you think he is that conceited about life. His promo exchange with Enzo Amore on Raw last night was a joy to watch as one of the best talkers in the history of the business came face to face with a young upstart who truly has the gift of gab.

As if that wasn't enough for one night, we then also got a continuation of the reluctant bromance between Jericho and Kevin Owens. These two have amazing comedic timing and have a heel Edge and Christian vibe about them whenever they share a promo segment.

Jericho lives to be booed when he is a heel. He is a true wrestler from the old school, not wanting to be that edgy heel fans want to be like to be cool. His whole ethos when he hits the ring is to be the most obnoxious jerk he can be, and he is doing this at such a high level right now.

At 45-years old, Jericho is not the master he once was in the ring. He can still wrestle though and he never looked out of place when feuding with the likes of Sami Zayn and Cesaro, two of the best workers in the business.

The WWE loves having Jericho in the fold because he is reliable. He has never been afraid to lose a match to put over a younger talent, even Fandango got his rub at one point. During this run however the company got so much more than they could have ever expected out of Jericho and when he leaves there will be a massive void on the Monday night roster.
