Conor McGregor is gearing up for what has to go down as one of the most important fights of his career to date.
When McGregor goes up against Nate Diaz at UFC 202 later this month, it is not just his body that he is putting on the line in the octagon. He is also staking his reputation on beating Diaz. Before the original fight between the two, McGregor was the undisputed top dog in the UFC, seemingly an absolutely untouchable behemoth who could do what he wanted.
He needs to get back to that level and following the release of a recent sparring video, it seems he is training like his career depends on it.

The Mac Life is some sort of documentary thing that has been following McGregor around in the run up to his fight against Diaz and today they posted a clip of McGregor's preparations.
You cannot deny that the Irishman is looking good in that video, striking well and moving on his feet a lot more freely than he was in the fight against Diaz, to say the very least.
McGregor is getting off some excellent strikes and it isn't against amateurs, either.
"McGregor has been sparring and rolling with some of the worlds best, and for the first time in his career he’s able to tailor his training camp to the specific strengths of an opponent," the website stated alongside the video.
"Larger sparring partners have been drafted in, decorated BJJ practitioners, longer rangy southpaws, body types similar to that of Diaz," it went on to add.
McGregor will need to be at his best to beat Diaz. But he knows, better than anyone else, just how necessary it is to get that win.
