You might remember Ashley Cole became the victim of a quite brilliant viral campaign two years ago, shortly after joining Roma.
Not many English players are brave enough to move abroad but Cole took the giant leap to Serie A after leaving Chelsea in 2014.
However, one poorly timed squad photo of the English left back with his new teammates suggested he wasn't exactly fitting in at Roma.
If you have forgotten you can scroll down to see the original image.
Anyway, the photograph flew around the internet and social media jokers began editing Cole's pose into other humorous images for the whole world to laugh at.
Two years on and Cole has revealed what actually happened for him to appear so segregated from the rest of the team.
In an interview with Soccer AM star Tubes, Cole pins the blame on Urby Emanuelson.
Cole said: "So I’m just on the end and my friend is next to me (Urby) Emanuelson. At first, he’s standing next to me, if he would have stood up it would have been fine but he’s leant forward.
"I’m so hot and tired after training I’m just standing there like this. I wasn’t bothered."
"Everyone was like: 'He’s got no friends there, he’s not speaking the language.' I had friends there, I had great friends there.”
When asked by Tubes whether he laughed at any of the Memes that were subsequently created, Cole added: “At the start, of course, it was hilarious but when I still see it now it’s boring, I’m over it. It was great banter at the start."
Cole, now with LA Galaxy, has enjoyed a very successful career. Three Premier Leagues, seven FA Cups, a Champions League and a Europa League represents a great haul by any player’s standards.
But the ex-Chelsea star also revealed he stores all of his winners’ medals away out of fear of them being stolen.
“They’re in a bank,” he added. “If someone robs my house, they’re going to take my trophies. Then what?"
While Cole has made a special effort to protect those memories, trying forget that squad photo is a much harder task for the former England international.
