Jamie Carragher has confirmed what everyone connected with Liverpool already knew: Jurgen Klopp needs to sign a left-back.
The fact that Klopp started James Milner at left-back in the 4-0 win over Barcelona says a lot about his faith - or lack thereof - in Alberto Moreno, who was erratic last season.
If that was his plan for next week's game against Arsenal, even that's now been scuppered, with Milner having to be subbed with a heel injury shortly before half-time.

Germany international is now widely believed to be the Reds' main target at left-back after Ben Chilwell turned down a move to Anfield to stay with Leicester.
And Carragher believes Klopp needs to buy in as Moreno can't always be relied upon.
"I think the left back area is certainly something that hopefully someone will be coming in after the young lad at Leicester has not come off," he told Sky Sports.
“But I think you want to be going into the season with one recognised left back. I’ve been critical of Alberto Moreno but hopefully he’ll improve as he’s obviously older a little bit more mature, working with Jurgen Klopp he will improve but it certainly the one area Liverpool need to improve.”

And while some have been quick to dismiss the importance of Liverpool's strong pre-season preparations, Carragher insists the Barca game was the perfect way to gear up for three away games on the bounce when the real season gets underway.
"Today (the Barcelona game) was great practice for playing Arsenal, a similar type of team. But Liverpool’s first three games are away from home before the first international break [and] I think that’s how you usually set up away from home with counter-attacks," he said.
