Baggies beat Boro

Jonas Olsson scored the only goal of the game to hand West Brom their first away win of the season after withstanding frantic late pressure from Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.

Former Boro midfielder Andrew Taylor booted two goalbound efforts off the line and keeper Scott Carson pulled off a series of fine saves to shatter Boro's 100% home record.

Albion acquitted themselves well in the first half and almost grabbed the lead when Olsson's close-range header was somehow tipped onto the post by Boro keeper Ross Turnbull.
