Brentford moved into fourth spot in the Coca-Cola League Two table after holding on to a 1-0 lead for 83 minutes away to Chesterfield, Marcus Bean the scorer.

Dagenham had designs on third spot themselves, but ended the day in sixth after mark Burchill pounced to secure Rotherham a 1-1 draw six minutes from time following Paul Benson's opener.

Richard Butcher scored a headed winner three minutes into injury-time as Notts County beat Aldershot 2-1 at Meadow Lane.

Anthony Charles (52) and Michael Johnson (56) had traded second-half goals before Jamie Clapham teed up Butcher's late winner.

Rock-bottom Luton collected a point to bring them one closer to zero with a 1-1 draw with 10-man Chester.

Asa Hall put them one up after 41 minutes before Paul McManus levelled 13 minutes from time. Defender Kevin Roberts then saw red two minutes from the end.
