The WWE bases their entire schedule around WrestleMania, and every year the storylines and matches are usually set way in advance for their premier event.
WrestleMania is the foundation of the company. It's their Super Bowl. It's the pinnacle of the year and it's been reported before that Vince McMahon and co. set up the main event matches a year in advance.
From that point, they gradually build the storylines and keep the superstars busy until WrestleMania season, which typically begins with the Royal Rumble in January.

The Womens division has enjoyed a renaissance of sorts over the past 12 months with the so-called 'Divas Revolution'. However you feel about that movement and the WWE's execution of it, there is little doubt that the level of female talent has skyrocketed in the past couple of years.
According to NODQ.com, the WWE plan to take advantage of two of its biggest emerging stars at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando next year.

"Once WrestleMania season rolls around, we have been told that the company wants to have a babyface Bayley go against a heel Sasha Banks for the WWE Women's Championship at the biggest event of the year, WrestleMania."
Banks is currently the WWE Women's champion and is certainly the hottest female face in the company at present. The Boss has gotten over with the fans because of her stellar in-ring work, but she was at the peak of her powers as the cocky heel in NXT.
She departed the developmental brand off the back of a beautiful feud with Bayley that left fans astounded at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn. It's been mooted as the greatest women's match of all time, and Vince appears to want to bring the pair to the main stage.
To do so, Bayley will have to take her rightful spot on the main roster sooner rather than later, and the report offered an update on that situation too.
"While her [Bayley] appearance at that time was just a one time deal, she is still expected to make her full-time run with the main roster sometime in September or October. "
Bayley is the ultimate babyface and these two mesh together so well it's just a perfect pairing. They have the right stories, characters and the in-ring work to match; they are certainly WrestleMania worthy.
Plans are known to change in the WWE, but the company's brass would be wise to keep this idea set in stone.
