Social media has become a part of everyday life and that is no different for NBA franchises. Each team's official account puts their own spin on using platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, but none do it better than the Atlanta Hawks.

Game nights are always incredibly entertaining over at @ATLHawks, and with the offseason in full swing, they needed a way to keep their fans entertained.

Last night saw the release of the official schedule for the 2016/17, and as the Hawks aim for a tenth successive playoff finish, they took their release to a whole new level, releasing the schedule in a list of emojis.

Some are pretty simple, like the Canadian flag for the Toronto Raptors or a crown for the Sacramento Kings, but others are not so straight forward. See the full schedule here.

SOCIAL KINGS

There are numerous examples when the Hawks' social media has stood out above the rest, like the time they called out Tony Romo following a win in Dallas. But the one that instantly springs to mind is the live tweeting of their disastrous game two defeat to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Conference Finals.

The soon-to-be champions scored a record 25 three-pointers at the Quicken Loans Arena as they ran out 123-98 in a completely one-sided game.  Cleveland would go on to win the series 4-0, their second consecutive sweep of the Hawks, but it was Atlanta's social media officer who was the real winner (kind of). Anyway, here is how it went.
