Filming has finally finished on Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s new movie, Fast and Furious 8, and it seems like it wasn’t a moment too soon. There appears to have been major tensions between Johnson and his male co-stars, particularly Vin Diesel. But these have been expressed, almost exclusively, through a series on Instagram posts, and it’s all a bit unclear as no names were mentioned.
Earlier this week The Rock posted a scathing diatribe referring to a non-specific ‘some’ of his male colleagues as ‘Candy a***s’ and ‘Chicken s**t’, and stating that they do not conduct themselves in a professional manner like the rest of the cast and crew. Ever the professional, he went on to comment that the rage this caused had made for a much better performance, which pleased him.
It was widely rumoured that the co-star in question was Diesel, especially after he was said to have confronted Dwayne in his trailer about the post. It was also said that Diesel left the set just a few minutes after completing his final scenes, adding fuel to the speculation.

After The Rock finished his final scenes, he once again, took to Instagram, this time with a different take on events. After thanking the stunt team, and the crew, he appeared to address the conflict. Comparing the film set to a family he said, that within family situations there will always be conflict, and having been raised on healthy conflict, he welcomed it. He did, however, qualify that by saying healthy conflict should be followed by great resolution.
Johnson finished his post by saying the cast and crew all agreed on the most important thing, delivering a great movie. Whether this was a real source of tension, a flash in the pan, or just a little extra free publicity for the movie, we may never know.
