The Italian manager was brought in to shake things up after the club's spectacular failures last year, and it appears the former Juventus man has made a rather big call in his first competitive line up at the club.
Spanish star Cesc Fabregas, who endured a torrid campaign last season, has been dropped ahead of the clash with the Hammers, with new star signing N'Golo Kante coming in alongside Nemanja Matic.

Many thought the creative midfielder would perhaps be pushed further forward to accommodate a more defensive duo, however, Oscar takes up that particular role just behind lone striker, Diego Costa.
Eden Hazard and Willian start out wide to complete a familiar looking Chelsea side, all be it with the inclusion of Kante, a man tipped to propel the club to more favourable fortunes this season.
Fabregas' omission is certainly a brave move from Conte, although the former Barcelona midfielder has been linked with a move away from west London this summer, with Juventus said to be interested in the creative maestro.
