Jurgen Klopp really wasn't kidding when he warned other clubs interested in Christian Benteke that he wouldn't be sold cheaply.
Crystal Palace have had another bid worth up to £30 million rejected by Liverpool, despite it matching the Reds' valuation of the player, according to the Telegraph.
It is thought the offer included an initial fee of £23 million, with a further £7m in potential add-ons.
But Liverpool are not impressed with the clauses and have denied the wantaway striker the opportunity to begin talks with Alan Pardew's side.
The 25-year-old is no longer wanted by his current club after a disappointing first campaign at Anfield.
However, the Liverpool hierarchy are holding out for a much more profitable offer and are under no pressure to sell the man they signed from Aston Villa for £32.5 million 12 months ago.
Palace would appear to be the ideal destination for the Belgian international as their struggles in front of goal cost them towards the end of last season.
A bright start to the 2015/16 campaign even linked Pardew with the England job but the goals soon dried up and they suffered a collapse in form and confidence post-Christmas.
The Eagles had already shown their intentions to spend big even before they sold Yannick Bolasie to Everton for £25 million which could rise to £30m.
Nevertheless, they are keen not to overspend on a forward who scored just nine times in the Premier League last season.
Given their desperate situation, it would be a surprise to see Palace drop their interest in Benteke despite the latest snub.
Their previous offer, worth up to £25 million, was rejected earlier in the summer but as the September deadline rapidly approaches, they are running out of time to find a new first choice striker to lead the line.
Liverpool fans have supported the club's decision to decline the latest offer for Benteke and were less than impressed with Palace's recent move.
