James Harden has received a lot of stick over the past 12 months.
Following his MVP-worthy season, as he led the Houston Rockets to the conference finals and finished second in the voting to Stephen Curry, his levels - on defence, at least - plummeted as the franchise barely scraped into the playoffs before losing to the Warriors in the first round.
Despite being targeted at almost every stadium for his defence, Harden had to face what we imagine is one of the worst hecklers he'd ever experienced during a Drew League game.
At the famous Los Angeles event, the spectator constantly got at Harden throughout the outing and the Rockets player finally responded when he was accused of flopping. The guy in the crowd hilarious said: “How many free throws you got? … You flopping out there, bro. You Vlade Divac’ing out there, bro.”
Harden tried to explain: “A flop means you don’t get touched.”
The un-named fan wasn't a fan of Harden's response and told him to 'be honest' before saying 'we boy scouts'. Watch the video here.
You can see the full extent of his heckling in this highlights video of the 26-year-old's 42-point performance. You have to say, the Houston guard dealt with it well.
After opting out of representing the United States of America at the 2016 Olympics, his attentions will be focused on helping the Houston Rockets climb back up the Western Conference.
With a new-look roster at the Toyota Center, Harden is the undoubted leader following the departure of Dwight Howard. If they fail to perform, the criticism will fall directly on his shoulders.
