Triple H and Alberto Del Rio have a frosty relationship.

Triple H punishing Alberto Del Rio by blocking planned push

Published 9 Comments

WWE legend Triple H is yet to make his return to TV following his match with Roman Reigns back at WrestleMania 32, but that hasn't stopped him from pulling the strings behind the curtain.

It's been well documented over the past couple of months that Triple H is not best pleased with Shane McMahon returning to the company and having a big say in the WWE Draft and the brand split, but there is another figure backstage that he's less than pleased with.

According to Daily Wrestling News, Triple H is punishing Alberto Del Rio and showing him who is still boss around the place by blocking his major push.

It's believed Del Rio was set to have another big push on SmackDown LIVE following the brand split and after the dust had fully settled from the split up of the League of Nations.

Vince McMahon was all for the push and was the spearhead behind the idea, but it was Triple H that dismissed the suggestion and that has since seen the Mexican's expected push be delayed.

Due to the tension backstage, it has lead to Del Rio being tempted to leave the company once again when his contract expires in October, something that McMahon is keen to avoid as he's a big fan of the former champion.

However, it's reported that Triple H has got in Vince's ear and has convinced him that a push for Del Rio isn't the right way to go, which may in turn lead to him leaving the company later this year.

There has been plenty of talk suggesting that Triple H and Alberto Del Rio just don't like each other, but it's believed The Game has pointed out how Del Rio likes to party a lot and is a liability to the company, and a bad influence on Paige.

Del Rio and Paige were believed to be dating, which has since ended due to the former being drafted to SmackDown LIVE and the latter being drafted to Monday Night Raw.

Once again, it's believed Triple H made the decision to split them up in order to show Del Rio who is boss.
