Poor days frustrate Saints boss

Southampton boss Jan Poortvliet admits his inconsistent side must turn more of their "bad days" into victories.

Saints are three points above the Championship drop zone but after two draws and a couple of wins, they looked set to climb the table.

However, they then lost 4-1 at Coventry last Saturday and Poortvliet is keen to see some more consistency in his team's results.

He told the club's official website: "My boys can beat everyone but we can also lose because it depends on what day we have.

"Hopefully in the near future we will win games even when we have a bad day because you have to do that when you are serious.

"Before you win bad games you also have to win the good games and we have the quality, but the experience is now what we have to add to our game."
