The WWE have gone all out in making sure SummerSlam doesn’t go down as any ordinary pay-per-view, the potential five-hour extravaganza is being treated as a junior WrestleMania, and the fans have a stacked card to look forward to.
Despite multiple championship matches taking place, along with the huge main event between SmackDown Live’s Randy Orton and Monday Night Raw’s Brock Lesnar; earlier this week fans were left wondering why Sami Zayn was excluded from the card.
DEMOTED TO PRE-SHOW
WWE.com have revealed that Zayn will be a part of the SummerSlam show, albeit on the pre-show rather than the main card, which isn’t exactly a popular decision.

Nevertheless, Zayn will be teaming up with his fellow former NXT Champion, Neville, as they battle The Dudley Boyz.
The official press release has put a lot of focus on how Zayn and Neville are not only former NXT Champions but rivals too, and how that could go against them in their tag team match.
Although there is a lot of focus on the excitement, they bring, the Dudley Boyz’ experience has been hyped up a lot too which suggests that we could be in for a surprise as we have seen some tension in their camp in recent weeks.
There have been rumours that the duo could break-up, and SummerSlam could be the great time to do it especially if they lose to Neville and Zayn, which will be a huge win for them.
Fans of Zayn are understandably frustrated with his booking as he’s been demoted to the pre-show. This is despite defeating Kevin Owens at Battleground in an incredible match, while Owens has made it to the main card to team up with Chris Jericho to take on Enzo and Big Cass.
There’s not much the fans can do about it, but hope he and Neville do enough to impress on the pre-show so the WWE know they deserve much better.
