Spurs remain rock bottom

Juande Ramos' woes deepened as nine-man Tottenham sunk to their sixth defeat in eight Barclays Premier League games at the hands losing 2-1 to Stoke.

Spurs had the worst possible start when Gareth Bale conceded a penalty and was red-carded 17 minutes into their game at the Britannia Stadium.

Danny Higginbotham scored from the spot and although Darren Bent equalised, Rory Delap grabbed the winner to leave Tottenham with two points from eight matches, their worst ever start to a season.

Substitute Michael Dawson's injury-time dismissal for a foot-up challenge on Sidibe summed up a miserable day for the north London side.
