It's fair to say that Arsenal fans never really knew whether they were coming or going with Gervinho.

The erratic forward had a topsy-turvy period throughout his spell in north London and was so often the cause of frustration.

On his day, he certainly had something special about him, but he just didn't produce the goods on a consistent basis.

At 29-years-old, the ex-Arsenal man is currently plying his trade in China and has once again hit the headlines...for the wrong reasons. 

Indeed, as you can see by the video below, Gervinho was sent off for a horror stamp on his opponent.

Gervinho dismissal 

The ex-Roma man stamped on the opposition player after initially surrendering possession. He was rightly dismissed and didn't seem to have any complaints as he left the field of play.

It was a bad day at the office for Gervinho's side, who went on to the lose game by one goal to nil. Indeed, a strike from Hao Che helpedHenan Jianye secure the victory over Hebei CFFC.
