Belgium international Christian Benteke has insisted that things could have been different at Liverpool if Jurgen Klopp had trusted him.
Benteke, 25, completed a £27 million transfer to Crystal Palace this past weekend after a disappointing year on Merseyside.
The forward, who had joined the Reds from Aston Villa, failed to produce the goods at Anfield and was often the subject of criticism.

After playing a prominent role for the club at the start of last season, Benteke often found himself on the bench under Jurgen Klopp's regime.
It's fair to say that Benteke would still be a Liverpool player if the club hadn't replaced Brendan Rodgers with revered coach Klopp.
Klopp changed things
“A lot of things happened at Liverpool," explained Benteke, as per the Mirror. "When I arrived it was with Brendan Rodgers as manager, but then he was sacked and Jurgen [Klopp] came in and had his own plan, but that’s part of football.
"I could have done better but I think I also needed some trust from the manager and the staff.
“I’ve met the manager a few times before I signed and that’s why I wanted to come here. I was really happy to hear about his project and that is why I am excited to come here.
"I did my own research too and there are some great wingers here and because of that I think I can be a success here.”
With Liverpool now firmly in the past, Benteke will be looking to get his career back on track at Selhurst Park. Alan Pardew's side still haven't registered a Premier League goal this season, but the addition of Benteke should change the dynamic of their forward line.
It wasn't so long ago that Benteke was recognised as one of the leading strikers in England's elite division, so there's no reason why he won't be able to get his career back on track at Palace.
