Sasha Banks lost her WWE Women's Championship to Charlotte at SummerSlam this past weekend after it was reported that Sasha was suffering from a back injury.
Various reports throughout SummerSlam stated that Sasha would be missing from WWE TV and live events until September 23rd which fitted in with a 30-day suspension. Given that Paige, Alberto Del Rio and Eva Marie have been suspended in the past week, many fans expected more names to be announced.
Following the event, it was finally announced that Sasha had been wrestling for the past few weeks with a back injury and it was one that needed medical attention. But following assessments yesterday it seems that Sasha doesn't actually need surgery for the injury and could return to the company much sooner than forecasted.

DID SASHA NEED TO DROP THE CHAMPIONSHIP?
Given that it has now been announced that Sasha could be back competing in less than three weeks time, it does raise the question as to whether or not Sasha needed to drop the Championship.
Trish Stratus suffered a herniated disc back in 2005 and was sidelined for four months and WWE allowed Trish to take the Women's Championship with her during her injury and found a way to allow the Women's Division to compete without the title. Raw could have done the same thing for a much shorter period of time here.
SmackDown is managing without a Women's Championship and has done so for almost a month, the fact that Nikki Bella held the belt for 301 days, then Charlotte held it for almost a year before Sasha's three-week reign shows that WWE prefers longevity with the Women's Championship but it seems this could have been done in a much better way.

RECLAIMING HER CHAMPIONSHIP
Sasha's loss to Charlotte at 'The Biggest Party of The Summer' was one of the biggest shocks of the show, which could be why many of the above rumours began. Sasha had only won the title three weeks before and WWE made a big deal about her win being the beginning of a new era.
Sasha's entire career was building towards that win and many of the WWE Universe have wanted Sasha to win the title ever since WrestleMania. Finally, she was given the opportunity to hold the title and it was taken away because of an injury that was yet to be assessed.
In her absence last night Raw brought up former NXT Women's Champion Bayley and she made a bee-line for the new Women's Champion, which makes it unclear where Sasha will fit in when she does finally return.
