Watch: Sadio Mane's highlights from 'outstanding' performance in Liverpool rout

Jordan Henderson described him as "outstanding", whilst Jurgen Klopp was happy to sing his praises after the game.

It is fair to say Sadio Mane's performance in Liverpool's 5-0 rout of Championship side Burton last night has got people talking.

The £32 million signing has impressed so far for the Anfield club in the Premier League, but he put in his best performance in a Liverpool shirt so far in Tuesday night's League Cup fixture. If you don't believe us, check out his highlights video from the game below...

Of course, Burton may not provide the sternest test of Mane's credentials this season. Nevertheless, Liverpool fans will love to see the energy, pace and skill on display from their big money summer arrival.

Alongside a wide range of clever passes and examples of his impressive work rate, the highlights video includes the two assists Mane produced en route to his deserved Man of the Match performance last night.

The first, in particular, will delight the Merseyside club's supporters, as Mane stands up a defender before using his electric pace to drive to the by-line and provide a simple tap in for Divock Origi.

Liverpool will be hoping for more of that in the weeks and months to come.

"We missed him at the weekend but we can't rely on him alone," Henderson said of Mane after the game.

"We've got a great squad with talented players but he's been outstanding for us and he gives us something different - he can have a big season for us."

Arsenal v Liverpool - Premier League

After putting Arsenal to the sword on the first day of the season, Mane wasn't involved as Liverpool suffered a surprise 2-0 defeat to Burnley last weekend.

With Klopp's side facing Tottenham Hotspur next, Liverpool will need Mane to be at his best as they look to build on a comfortable cup win.

If they want to get something from White Hart Lane, however, it is looking increasingly likely that Mane will have to put in a third successive Man of the Match-worthy performance.
