Poor James Harden (we say that lightly).
After what can only be described as a rocky season as the Houston Rockets finished eighth in the Western Conference and put up a feeble effort against the Golden State Warriors in the first round of the playoffs, his summer hasn't been much better.
Despite putting up 29 points per game, shooting .439 percent from the field and providing 7.5 assists a night, he was left out of the All-NBA teams, and to make matter worse, his first-ever signature shoe has gone down like a lead balloon on social media.
Some photos were recently leaked of his first signature sneaker with Adidas. Looking more like work boots than trainers, they were given the typical treatment on social media. Somewhere in the States, Stephen Curry and Under Armour will be breathing a sigh of relief.
Harden himself has been a target for Twitter users in recent months for his lacklustre defence that, at points during the previous season, was absolutely laughable.
He has a chance to change his fortunes in the next campaign and ensure he does not win 'Shaqtin' a Fool' for a second year on the bounce. The Houston guard is slowly becoming a running joke in the league, but he is so much better than that.
