Manchester United fans react to reports they’ve been offered Mario Balotelli

Published 2 Comments

Despite the fact he’s made an absolute fortune in agent fees off the back of his transfer dealings with Manchester United this summer, Mino Raiola is hoping another of his clients will end up at Old Trafford before the transfer window closes next week.

The deals for Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have significantly increased the Italian-born Dutch football agent’s bank balance, but the 48-year-old isn’t done yet.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Raiola has offered United the services of none other than Mario Balotelli.

Liverpool don’t want the Italy international, who has scored a pitiful two league goals - for the Reds and AC Milan, while on loan at the San Siro - in the last two seasons.

Balotelli’s career has regressed significantly since leaving AC Milan in 2014 and it’s safe to say his reputation has reached a new nadir.

Subsequently, there appears to be no realistic chance of United signing the 26-year-old, who was once described by Jose Mourinho as “unmanageable” while working alongside the striker at Inter Milan.

But how do United fans feel about the possibility of Balotelli coming to Old Trafford?

Balotelli is unlikely to fulfil his potential

That’s pretty conclusive: United supporters don’t want the Italian anywhere near the club - and who can blame for them feeling that way?

While some people would argue that Balotelli possesses plenty of talent, how often have we seen what he’s capable of over the years? A handful, at most.

In order to become a truly great player, you need a hell of a lot more than talent; it’s essential you also have a fantastic attitude and a burning desire to reach the top.

Balotelli is failing to fulfil his potential and that’s nobody’s fault but his own.

At 26, there’s a real chance now we’ll never see the best of Balotelli.
