Imagine chilling in your house and then receiving a text asking if you want to play in the Premier League
No wonder Ragnar Klavan thought he was being pranked.
The Liverpool defender, a summer signing from FC Augsburg, has told the remarkable tale of how he got Klopp to send him a selfie to prove it was the German who asked him to come and join Liverpool.

Klavan, aged 30, probably thought his chance to play in the biggest league in the world was over. He’d achieved success in Holland, winning the Eredivisie with AZ Alkmaar, but that was eight years ago.
Most in Klavan’s position would have imagined - and been content with - staying in Germany for a couple more seasons before considering retirement.

And Klavern’s reaction to his agent’s text about Liverpool confirms he was thinking roughly the same thing.
“Jurgen sent me a selfie to prove it was him,” the Estonian said in an interview with the Telegraph.
“I’d received the messages so I wrote back ‘I don’t believe you. I need proof’. He sent me the picture smiling.
“At first I couldn’t believe it. It was my dream to play in the Premier League for 22 years. Then you are told you not only have a chance to do it, but it is Liverpool. I was like ‘are you serious? This is really happening?’
“I never thought of the possibility. There are some players who are always asking their agent ‘is anyone interested in me? Tell me, tell me’."
No idea of Liverpool's interest
“I always told my agent that if there is something real and 100 per cent sure you can tell me about it, but I don’t want to hear about maybes.
“What is interest nowadays in football? Interest could mean you are in a list of 20 players. I had no idea Klopp was looking at me.
“I didn’t need convincing. I told the manager straight away if there is a chance to come, no other club interests me.”
Starting centre back
Not only is Klavan now plying his trade at Anfield, but he looks set to play an important role for the Reds. 180 minutes from two league games tells as much.
With Mamadou Sakho set to leave the club on loan and Joel Matip still finding his fitness, Klavan has an opportunity to make the starting spot next to Dejan Lovren his own.
And it all started with a selfie.
