The Roman Reigns anti-doping violation and Finn Balor’s recent injury have caused a domino effect in regards to potential plans being scrapped and changed on Monday Night Raw.

While Balor was expected to face off against Chris Jericho, Reigns was scheduled to become the WWE Champion which would have resulted in the new Universal Championship heading over to SmackDown Live.

NEW PLANS

Those plans need to be forgotten now, as new rumours from DailyWrestlingNews.com suggest that we could be in line for a double turn in the near future.

There’s a chance Balor’s injury could have played a part in this, but there has reportedly been talk that Seth Rollins could be turning face and Reigns could be turning heel, at long last.

They’re claiming that the plan was always to have a double turn involving Rollins and Reigns, which would have taken place before the end of 2016, even if Balor didn’t get injured.

However, now that he is hurt, there’s a feeling that they may have to speed this plan up especially since Reigns is now not challenging Rusev for the United States Championship.

Instead, he’s in the fatal four way next Monday along with Rollins, Big Cass and Kevin Owens to determine a new Universal Champion.

DOUBLE TURN

At this point, it’s about putting Reigns out of his misery and finally turning him heel, because his singles face run will go down as a chaotic failure.

It makes complete sense to make the move; the fans cheer Rollins on a weekly basis, and he has the move-set of a face.

On the other hand, Reigns looks like a natural heel, a man you're supposed to hate, despite not being a good guy or a bad guy, but the guy, the fans don't seem to share the same feeling.

A heel turn would finally give the fans a reason to boo him genuinely, while the WWE won't need to worry about his time at the top of the card.

Many expected that Rollins’ return at Extreme Rules would be the night the huge double turn takes place, however, the opted to keep them as they are.

It’s not clear how they could pull this off on Monday Night Raw, but all eyes will be on Clash of Champions to see if the WWE finally pull the trigger and make the move fans have been calling for.
