After it was revealed that 'American Grit' would be returning for a second season, a lot of WWE fans were left wondering what would happen to John Cena and how his future with the company would be effected.
Cena has been with the WWE for over a decade, and for the large part of his time with the company, he has been the poster boy and 'the face that runs the place'.
However, in recent times, his role within WWE has become smaller and smaller, with his feuds being more with mid-card talent, rather than challenging for world titles.

The 39-year-old recently admitted that he's waiting for someone to come along and take his spot at the top of WWE, and that may have happened earlier this month at SummerSlam, when he lost clean to WWE new boy AJ Styles.
Despite being a huge name in wrestling around the world, Styles is relatively new to the WWE, arriving in January during the Royal Rumble.
He's now racked up two victories against Cena, and following his big win at SummerSlam, it looks like he could be the new face that runs the place.
However, the rivalry between the two is reportedly not over.
According to NoDQ, once Cena returns to the squared circle following the filming of American Grit, the two will renew their feud and continue to battle for the top spot of the company.
This comes after Cena subtly hinted that he would be leaving the company, after he left his armband in the ring following his defeat to Styles at SummerSlam.
That is not the case, however, and once he returns, he will reignite his feud with Styles, who is set to push for the WWE World Championship in Cena's absence.
