Nick Young's L.A. Lakers career may be in jeopardy after numerous reports that the franchise is willing to release him before the new season starts, but it seems the 31-year-old isn't getting too caught up in the details of his future.
It seemed that his only care in the world yesterday was the incident involving Chris Brown that happened in his neighbourhood. He took to Instagram to jokingly ask the singer to move away from the area following the artist's standoff with police outside his $4 million home.
The 11-hour incident in Tarzana, L.A. ended in the arrest of Brown after he allegedly pointed a gun at a female inside his house. But during the conflicted that involved a SWAT team, helicopters and police dogs, the shooting guard joked that the singer was 'ruining' the area.
He said: "Chris Brown, you gotta move. Go on, get away from here!
"There's really only two of us [black people] over here ... at this rate you gonna make it one.
"Please, I like you, man. You my dawg. We go out, but you go out away from over here ... go!"
He captioned the video on Instagram: "@chrisbrownofficial making the block hot hahahahahahahahahaha Jp #YouKnowImPlaying ... #nothingButLove #JustTryingToLightenTheMood #TheyDoingToMuchOverSheSayHeSay."
The future could see Young moving away from his home state if reports are anything to go by. The Lakers are supposedly keen to end his spell with the franchise but have been unable to trade him.
Following a poor season that saw him become a peripheral figure at the Staples Center, his guaranteed $11 million is proving to be somewhat of a sticking point. But it would be a huge surprise to see him in the Purple and Gold again.
