Chelsea have kept their fans on tenterhooks all day following rumours they were about to make one of the boldest moves on this summer's transfer window deadline day.
But after said player was pictured arriving in London earlier today, Blues officials could deny it no longer.
That's right, Chelsea have finally confirmed that an agreement has been reached with Paris Saint-Germain regarding the transfer of David Luiz.
An initial offer of £30 million was rejected but the fee the two teams are believed to agree on is £38m plus any subsequent add-ons.
Luiz's return to Stamford Bridge comes just two years after he was sold by Jose Mourinho for £50 million.
The Brazilian has ended Antonio Conte's search for a centre-back which has transpired for most of the summer.
Failed pursuits for Kalidou Koulibaly and Alessio Romagnoli left Conte running out of options with less than 24 hours remaining to bring in some more additions.
Chelsea confirmed Marcos Alonso's arrival from Fiorentina earlier in the day but Luiz's return has certainly attracted more excitement from the majority of Blues' fans.
The statement on Chelsea's official website read: "Chelsea Football Club and Paris Saint-Germain have agreed terms for the transfer of David Luiz back to London.
"The move is now subject to him agreeing personal terms and passing a medical."
Irrespective of the statement, the terms are actually believed to be agreed.
The 29-year-old has already changed his profile pictures across all of his social media accounts, wearing a Chelsea shirt.
