The Brazilian has ended Antonio Conte's search for a centre-back which has transpired for most of the summer.

Failed pursuits for Kalidou Koulibaly and Alessio Romagnoli left Conte running out of options with less than 24 hours remaining to bring in some more additions.

Chelsea confirmed Marcos Alonso's arrival from Fiorentina earlier in the day but Luiz's return has certainly attracted more excitement from the majority of Blues' fans.
