Australian Tennis star Bernard Tomic has been fined to the tune of £7,500 by the International Tennis Federation.
He received this punishment after he confronted a heckler in the crowd with the phrase 'suck my b****' during his first round clash with Damir Dzumhur at the US Open.
The incident occurred during the first set of the tie, when Tomic was heard on camera projecting a slur into the crowd on the Old Grandstand court, after being pushed beyond the end of his tether by a spectator who had been constantly 'baiting' him.

Tomic went on to lose the match by three sets to one, confirming his exit of the tournament in the first round.
On the incident, Tomic said in a post match press conference: "I think he was just baiting me a bit.

"I don't want to get into it. I apologised for what I said to him. I think after he left after the first set, I think the crowd got happy he left because he was a bit annoying."
Tomic started out his career in tennis at junior level, winning three Orange Bowl titles and two Junior Grand Slam titles. One of which came at the 2008 Australian Open, with the other coming the following year at the US Open.
In senior competition, Tomic has won three career men's singles titles. He won the 2013 Apia International in Sydney, the 2014 Claro Open in Colombia, and last year he successfully defended his Claro Open crown with a 6-1 3-6 6-2 victory over Adrian Mannarino.

So far in his career, Tomic is yet to gain a senior Grand Slam title. The closest he has come to achieving this feat is reaching the quarter finals of the 2011 Wimbledon tournament, where he came up against a tough opponent in number two seed at the time, Novak Djokovic.
Tomic was unable to answer the questions of Djokovic that day, and was beaten 6-2 3-6 6-3 7-5.
There is still a lot to come from this bright young tennis star. He will see this recent event as a lesson to be learned, and with a total prize money earned figure of around £3.3 million, the £7,500 fine won't do too much damage to his bank account.
