Southampton defender Jose Fonte has had his say on his potential move to Manchester United in the summer falling through.
The 32-year-old was wanted by the Red Devils who were looking to add yet more reinforcements to their back-line after acquiring the services of Eric Bailly from Villarreal.
One of the many Portuguese stars from Euro 2016, Fonte has seen his status in the Premier League grow at a significant rate in the last few years.

Despite his age, the Saints man still harbours ambitions of a move to a higher level. Speaking to the Mirror, the defender seemed at a crossroads with regards to his future:
"Was I disappointed the Man United move didn’t happen? Let’s leave that for another time," he said. "Now I’m focused on Southampton.
"I have lots of targets: to play in the [UEFA] Champions League, to play in a World Cup, to win a trophy in England."
It seems clear that to achieve these targets, Fonte will have to seek employment at a more prosperous club.
While Southampton have come on in leaps and bounds over the last few years, they still remain a club unlikely to challenge the top four or achieve glory in cup competitions.
Claude Puel's side are regularly forced into selling their best players with Sadio Mane being the latest instalment, moving to Liverpool in a £36m deal.
Fonte has become an integral part of the Saints side, forging an effective partnership alongside fellow central defender, Virgil van Dijk.
Will the Portuguese star be the latest addition to the highly-regarded departure list at the south coast club? Well, if he is to stand a chance of achieving his ambitions, he may have to do just that.
