A fair few heads were shaking in disbelief when Liverpool announced the signing of Alex Manninger on a short-term contract in this summer's transfer window.
The 39-year-old has been around for years, appearing all throughout Europe and previously spending some time in the Premier League with Arsenal in the late 1990's.
Now, the Austrian is back as cover for Simon Mignolet and another new Liverpool signing, who is currently injured, Loris Karius.

However, the old war horse has not started his Merseyside career very promisingly after making a huge mistake in a 2-1 loss to Huddersfield in a friendly over the international break.
The highlights from the match can be seen below along with the horrendous goalkeeping error:
To be fair, Manninger does do a fairly good impression of a new-born farm animal with the ball at his feet and then topping it off with a child-like clearance.
The Huddersfield players duly obliged to put the ball past the Austrian to take the lead for the first time in the match, Kasey Palmer the man taking advantage of the mistake.
Jack Payne was the man to equalise for the Terriers after Liverpool had taken the lead through youth prospect Ovie Ejaria.
Jurgen Klopp fielded a fairly strong team in the fixture with Roberto Firmino, James Milner, Danny Ings, Joel Matip and others all taking part.
However, the wealth of talent was still not enough to get past Huddersfield who currently top the Championship table after five rounds of games.
Manninger will not want to look back at this game in a hurry after such a foolish mistake and it is unlikely we will see him in a competitive fixture anytime soon for the Reds.
