After winning Olympic gold for Brazil in his home country, it’s hardly surprising that Neymar is now a national hero.
In fact, the Barcelona star was already regarded as a Brazilian legend before this summer’s Olympic Games after scoring an incredible 47 goals in 71 appearances, whilst captaining them for the past few years.
So, when he scored a magnificent free-kick in the Olympic final against Germany and then netted the winning penalty in the shoot-out, Neymar went down in history.
So, during an opening training session in Manaus, the 24-year-old was always going to be at the centre of attention.
However, some fans weren’t satisfied with just watching the superstar show off his skills. They wanted to get a little closer to the action.
Dozens of Brazilians ran onto the training pitch as stewards tried their best to keep them away from the players. However, three men - including one in a Barcelona shirt - managed to reach Neymar.
When they eventually got their hands on him, they proceeded to tackle him to the ground while stewards desperately attempted to pull them off the forward.

Credit to Neymar who didn’t appear too fazed by the whole situation - this has probably happened to him on countless occasions to be fair.
However, it must be a little bit scary for players when they see crazy fans running towards them - especially if they plan on tackling you to the ground.
But it seems Neymar came away from the incident unscathed, while the three pitch invaders will no doubt remember the day they bundled Neymar to the ground for the rest of their lives.
