Shorey back for Villa

Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill has a virtual clean bill of health for Thursday's UEFA Cup Group F match with Ajax at Villa Park.

Long-term casualty Wilfred Bouma is the only player unavailable for the visit of Marco van Basten's side.

O'Neill confirmed Nicky Shorey will return at left-back after being left out of the starting line-up against Portsmouth at the weekend.

Gareth Barry, who replaced Shorey, will now be competing with Nigel Reo-Coker and Stiliyan Petrov for a midfield spot.
