The New Day have recently become the longest reigning Tag Team Champions in WWE history and SummerSlam marked a year since the trio picked up those titles, and proved that despite a rocky start, the group have become one of the best tag teams in the company currently.
It is no secret that when The New Day first debuted as a group they were given a hard time by the WWE Universe, they were slated as a group that wouldn't last until somehow they managed to use their gimmick to become firm fan favourites.
In a recent interview during the launch of WWE2K17 The New Day revealed that it wasn't only the WWE Universe that thought the gimmick was bad, The Big Show actually begged Kofi Kingston to leave the group because Big E and Xavier Woods were dragging him down.

KOFI WITHOUT THE NEW DAY
During the short video clip, both Big E and Xavier explain that they were with Kofi when The Big Show was telling him to leave the group, and they just stood there and watched it happen.
The New Day managed to turn things around and lifted the Tag Team Championships at Extreme Rules 2015 as a heel stable. Kofi then admitted that Big Show came to find them afterwards and apologised for telling Kofi to leave and he is now 'one of my favourite people.'
But that doesn't change the fact that Big Show's constant remarks could have led to Kofi asking to leave the group and go solo again. Would The New Day have been as successful as they are right now without Kofi?

THE NEW DAY'S FUTURE
Even though The New Day are talking about the past and the fact that Kofi managed to overcome things like this en-route to becoming two-time Tag Team Champions, the future of the team is considered a hot topic currently.
Many believed that The New Day would drop the titles to Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows at SummerSlam as a way to build up a personal rivalry between the two groups after they took out Big E, but that didn't happen and now it opens up to a rematch between the two groups that could see The Club finally lift gold in WWE.
The Club have proved that they have what it takes to be Champions in WWE and have shown that they also have a less serious side by being involved in some of Raw's comedy sketches over the past few weeks. The Club and New Day could be set for an incredible feud over the Tag Titles that could lead all the way up to WrestleMania season.
