Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will continue to fight after FIFA upheld their transfer ban on Thursday.
Both Spanish clubs are planning to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in a bid to have their FIFA-imposed suspensions overturned.
As things stand, Real and Atletico will be banned from adding players to their squad until 2018.

The same thing happened to Barcelona back in 2014.
The Catalan giants were handed a two-window transfer ban by FIFA in relation to the “international transfer of minors”.
Real Madrid players filmed mocking Barcelona's CAS appeal
Despite their ban, however, Barça still managed to win a historic treble at the end of the 2014-15 campaign.
A few months earlier and Real Madrid players were filmed mocking Barcelona’s decision to take their appeal to CAS while training.
"Come on, let's go call the CAS, let's go and call the CAS," Dani Carvajal was filmed saying, per Catalan newspaper Sport, and you can watch the footage from January 2015 for yourselves below.
NB: 'TAS' is the Tribunal Arbitral du Sport (Court of Arbitration for Sport).
This happened days after CAS rejected Barça’s appeal to get their transfer ban lifted.
Now, a year and a half later, Real Madrid find themselves in the same situation as their fierce rivals.
Real Madrid's statement
In a statement on the club’s official website, Los Blancos said: “In light of today's decision by the FIFA Appeal Committee, Real Madrid C. F. wishes to communicate the following:
“1. The club regrets said decision, understanding it to be deeply unjust and contrary to the fundamental principles of disciplinary law.
“2. The club will begin the appropriate appeals procedure before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), requesting that the decision be completely overturned, with absolute confidence that said organisation will come to an entirely favourable decision.
“3. Real Madrid C. F. will request that the procedure be undertaken in an urgent manner in order to obtain a decision from the CAS as quickly as possible.”
It probably won’t be long before a Barcelona player exacts revenge by mocking Real Madrid.
Gerard Pique the favourite to take a cheeky dig.
