The new NFL season is just around the corner as the Denver Broncos host the team they defeated in the Super Bowl, the Carolina Panthers, this Thursday night, with the rest of the 30 teams in the league having their first game this weekend.
With the return of NFL comes an opportunity to play fantasy American football as well, and one of the best ways to play fantasy American football these days is with DraftKings. Not only can you have fun watching your players score you points, but you can win big money too.

To take part, all you need to do is select a nine-man line-up made up of one quarterback, two running backs, three wide receivers, one tight end, one team defense and one flex (running back, wide receiver or tight end). GiveMeSport has partnered with DraftKings to help you out with some of your selections for week one of the new NFL season.
Andrew Luck, QB, Indianapolis Colts, $8,300 vs Detroit Lions
Sometimes you've got to spend big money to make big money, so why not get one of the most promising young quarterbacks in the league? Sure, Indianapolis Colts' Andrew Luck may be coming off a horrible 2015 season, but he's already shown potential before then. Don't let the shoulder problems put you off.
He has an awesome receiving group to pass to in the likes of T.Y. Hilton, Donte Moncrief, Phillip Dorsett and Dwayne Allen, and against a weak Lions secondary that looks horrible behind cornerback Darius Slay, Luck will have a field day.
His average fantasy football points per game (FFPG) last season may have only been 21.4, but he's bound to score more than that this week with the options he has on offense and the defense he is facing, which was ranked 22nd overall against quarterbacks on DraftKings last season.
Odell Beckham Jr, WR, New York Giants, $9,300 vs Dallas Cowboys
One of the best wide receivers in the league, New York Giants' Odell Beckham Jr. could have a monster game against the Dallas Cowboys this weekend. While the Cowboys might have been able to hold the wideout last year, having being ranked 7th overall against receivers on DraftKings, this season will be different due to several factors.
Beckham now has company in the position with Victor Cruz returning from injury and the newly drafted Sterling Shepard joining the team who can't be taken lightly. Both of these players have big play ability so can't be ignored by the Cowboys secondary. They can't risk giving Beckham too much double coverage.
Lest we forget, there is no quarterback Tony Romo under center for America's team, and backup Dak Prescott hasn't been truly been tested against a good defense in preseason. The Giants had 15 interceptions last season which was joint-sixth highest in the league.
With no proper running game at the Giants either, the wide receivers are going to be seeing the ball a lot, which means more targets for Beckham and more points for your fantasy team. He's going to average higher than the 22.9 FFPG he achieved last year.
Spencer Ware, RB, Kansas City Chiefs, $4,400 vs San Diego Chargers
The Kansas City Chiefs will be reliant on their running game to get their offense going against the San Diego Chargers as they don't have many passing options, so if you want a little bit more of a risky pick that could have a big payoff, look no further than running back Spencer Ware.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has indicated their main starting running back Jamaal Charles may not be ready for their week one contest against the Chargers, meaning most likely, Ware will lead the backfield, with Charcandrick West mixing in every now and then.
The Chargers were ranked 27th overall against running backs last season on DraftKings, and although they may be trying to improve that statistic by drafting defensive end Joey Bosa, his off-field problems involving his contract means he hasn't had enough time to master their defensive playbook. He might not even start, so have no fear playing Ware as their AFC West rivals will probably struggle to stop him.
DraftKings have two compelling contests for NFL kickoff. The first is a $100,000 Freeroll. It’s completely free to enter and there is $100K in total cash prizes.
