Goldberg does not support Colin Kaepernick's recent controversial actions

Published 3 Comments

Goldberg has been making waves recently as the new face of WWE 2K17 after spending years in the wilderness following an underwhelming run with the WWE that finished in 2004.

Besides berating Brock Lesnar in various ways, Goldberg has taken out plenty of time recently to conduct interviews as part of the promotional side of his appearance in WWE 2K17.

The former WCW superstar recently auctioned a custom-made Auction Americas championship belt at Auctions America in Auburn, and spoke on a number of topics during his appearance.

Colin Kaepernick's recent controversial stance towards the national anthem did not allude the 49-year-old and he was quick to condemn the San Francisco 49ers quarterback.

"In a day and age where you have professional athletes not willing to stand and honor that flag, I'm up here to say I'm completely against that," Goldberg said. "There's no cause worth fighting for when you step on the people who have tread the ground for you, who have sacrificed lives, who have fought for nothing but that flag."

Kaepernick has been kneeling or refusing to stand during the national anthem as a form of protest for how the black community has been treated in America recently.

After a slew of controversial deaths, most of which have come at the hands of the police, Kaepernick felt he had to make a stand.

Is it the right way to do it? It has certainly gotten everyone's attention, with people like Stephen Curry supporting his actions.
