FIFA 17: The top 10 strongest players in the new game

Football fans have to wait for another three weeks to get their hands on FIFA17 - but we’ve got something that may whet their appetite.

We have all digested the news that Cristiano Ronaldo has been rated higher than Lionel Messi - but what about sheer strength?

Strength is, unsurprisingly, a feature that FIFA fans hold in high regard. A strong player can completely change the dynamic of any team, but who are the strongest players in the game?

Well, we’ve got our hands on the list of the top 10 strongest players in FIFA17.

While you may recognise the name of some of the players in the list, the majority of them are relatively unknown.

Of course, the beast that is Adebayo Akinfenwa, tops the list.

10. Kendall Waston | Club: Vancouver Whitecaps

You will find it extremely difficult to find your way past this forceful defender. The 28-year-old is 6 ft 5 in and plays in the MLS for Vancouver Whitecaps and for his national side, Costa Rica.


9. Florian Ballas | Club: Dynamo Dresden

Ballas is also a defender, but is only 23-yers-old. He recently moved from FSV Frankfurt to Dynamo Dresden in the Bundesliga second division.

8. Colin Bonner | Club: FC Dallas

A striker with big strength stats are always handy if you want to play as a target man. Bonner is exactly that so, if you want to play as FC Dallas, make the most of Bonner’s physical prowess.

7. Hakeem Araba | Club: Falkenbergs FF

Araba may only be 25-years-old but the Englishman has played for 14 clubs from England, Cyprus and Greece. The striker now finds himself in Sweden with Falkenburg.

6. Jannik Vestergaard | Club: Borussia Monchengladbach

The Denmark international has recently moved to Monchengladbach from Weder Breman and is a highly-rated defender. The 24-year-old has been capped eight times for his country and will prove difficult to take on in FIFA 17.


5. Wilfried Bony | Club: Stoke City

Bony looks to be a great signing for Stoke this summer and he also looks to be a good player in FIFA 17. His sheer strength will be able to hold off many Premier League defenders.

4. Abdoul Ba | Club: RC Lens

Can you name any Mauritania internationals? Well, Ba is one. The 22-year-old has been at Len his entire career could play regularly for the Ligue 2 club this season.

3. Roman Torres | Club: Seattle Sounders

The experienced defender has received 95 caps for his country, Panama, and is now plying his trade in the MLS after playing the majority of his career in Colombia.

2. George Elokobi | Club: Colchester United

If you play in the football league on FIFA, then you’ll be well aware who Elokobi is. The defender now finds himself in League Two with Colchester.

1. Adebayo Akinfenwa | Club: Wycombe Wanderers

The beast. The self-proclaimed strongest man in football is the strongest man of FIFA. He may not have any pace, but Akinfenwa will be very difficult to tackle on the new game. At the age of 34, it could be the last FIFA that Akinfenwa is included - so make the most of him while he lasts!
