Kevin Durant says he is still 'cool' with Russell Westbrook

Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook's relationship appeared broken beyond repair when the 2014 Most Valuable Player decided to switch the Oklahoma City Thunder for the Golden State Warriors.

Westbrook stayed loyal to the franchise by signing an extension and stated he had not spoken to Durant during the offseason. His recent Jordan advert also included what appeared to be a dig at the forward and his posts on social media have been questionable.

They spent eight years together and their time as a duo will go down as one of the biggest nearly stories the NBA has seen over the past 20 years.

But despite joining the franchise that sent the Thunder crashing in the western conference finals last season, Durant insisted they were still cool.

In a recent video posted by Rockets Insider, the new Golden State man spoke about his former teammate at a Nike event.

They may actually remain cool off the court, but we can still expect fireworks when the two franchises go face-to-face next season.

Westbrook is the favourite to be named MVP and he will be out to show the Warriors exactly what he can do from the off. But KD won't take it lying down. It's going to be incredible.
