Shaquille O'Neal explains his most embarrassing NBA moment

Published 2 Comments

Even Hall of Famers have their more embarrassing moment, and despite being the most physically dominant big man in the modern era, Shaquille O'Neal was not immune to the odd mishap.

The Big Aristotle became a first-ballot Hall of Fame enshrinee this year alongside Yao Ming and Allen Iverson, and ahead of the ceremony that took place on Friday, the trio spoke about their most awkward moments in the league.

Ming, the former Houston Rockets center, admitted his was the moment Stephon Marbury crossed him over while, unsurprisingly, Shaq's came at the free throw line.

He said: "My most embarrassing moment, we like to play it off, but one time I'm at the free throw line and I shoot an airball but instead of being embarrassed I was like damn the ball slipped out of my hands."

Shaq's shooting from the charity stripe was a curse throughout his career. But it hardly held him back. Just imagine what the 44-year-old's stats would've looked like had he found some sort of rhythm.

There are far more embarrassing moments than air balling a free throw, and it speaks volumes of Shaq's skill that he couldn't think of anything worse.
